Andrew Rekhels Comes Home to Lead Havurah

We are very excited to welcome Andrew Rekhels back to Tel Yehudah as the new Program Manager for Havurah, our nationally-recognized program for teens from the Russian-speaking community.

Andrew was Born in Odessa Ukraine. His family moved to New York when he was five years old along with his grandparents and the rest of his family. He has worked in camps since he was 20 years old, starting in a JCC day camp, eventually moving on to overnight camps in both the USA and Canada. Andrew has held various positions in Havurah from 2011-2013 ranging from madrich to merakez.

Andrew went to school for speech pathology and education, and after working with at risk youth for the past five years, has come home to Tel Yehudah to be the new program manager for Havurah. When he isn’t working with Havurah, Andrew enjoys traveling to new places around the world to go snowboarding. He also loves sports, especially baseball and is a huge Yankee fan. Andrew is currently engaged and lives in Brooklyn with his fiancé.

Havurah receives generous support from the Genesis Philanthropy Group, the Foundation for Jewish Camp, and the Jewish Agency for Israel.
