This summer. Tel Yehudah will make its debut on the West Coast with it's newest program: J-Build Portland, a summer program for rising juniors and seniors to live and work in Portland, OR. A collaboration between Tivnu: Building Justice, American Jewish Society for Service and Young Judaea,
J-Build is an opportunity for teenagers to engage in service and pursue social justice in an environment that embraces their Jewish values. The primary focus of our work will be in construction and activities that address the fundamental issue of housing.
Tel Yehudah is very excited to partner with two innovative organizations dedicated to social justice and service. American Jewish Society for Service (AJSS) has been giving high school students the chance to put their Jewish values into action for 60 years through their transformative summer service programs. Tivnu: Building Justice is a new organization, founded by former Young Judaea national mazkir, Steven Eisenbach-Budner. Tivnu is a service learning organization that braids together advocacy for the fulfillment of basic human needs, Jewish study, and construction work and training in Portland.
J-Build Portland's inaugural season will be June 26, 2013 - July 21, 2013. Learn more here.
