This past week, TY was emptied of campers. Everybody in camp left to go on an adventure . This year in Kfir, we went on a road trip to Niagra Falls. I was super excited when I heard where we were going. I have been to the falls before, but only when I was very young. What better way to revisit a beautiful place, than with some of my closest friends?
On this first day of the trip we went to the Woodstock Museum. We saw where the original music festival happened, and learned some of the history that occurred there. After the museum, we drove to our campsite. The campsite was amazing. First, there were no rocks where we were. Second, there were showers in the bath house. Finally, after a small walk, there was a natural swimming lake, with a diving board!
On the second day, after cleaning up our campsite, we drove to a small shopping center in Ithaca. There were many cute shops, good restaurants, and a lot of Pokemon! Once we were done shopping, we drove to a hiking trail. On the hike, everyone in Kfir met new people, and got closer to each other. At the end of the hike, we arrived at a new campsite. This site was also nice, though there was no actual plumming. One exciting experience we had was waking to a giant thunder storm in the middle of the night. In the morning, we were all soaked!
The third day, we finally reached the falls. We went on the Maid of the Mist which was so cool! We got a close up look at 2 massive waterfalls. This boat ride was by far my favorite part of the trip. Once we left Niagra Falls, we went to Larkin Square in downtown Buffalo, where we got food and listened to live music. After, Larkin Square we headed straight to the JCC. At the JCC we got buffalo wings… IN BUFFALO! We go to to shower and sleep indoors. I got the best night’s sleep there than any other night.
On the fourth and last day of our trip, we went to the Corning Museum of Glass. In this museum, we saw glass of all shapes and sizes and colors. It was a breathtaking museum. Once we ran out of time at the museum, we headed back to camp, our great adventure sadly coming to an end.
The trip kfir took this year was so much fun! I met many new people and learned so many new things. Had I not been with my camp friends, this trip would not have been as enjoyable.
