At Camp TY, we are always doing activities that connect the different communities here; and this we participated in the most prominent way of connecting us: Maccabia. During Maccabia yesterday, there were three teams that each bonded together to compete for victory. In the end, only the Green Team was victorious, but the bonds we made with each other will never be lost. A lot of the activities this week were focused on connecting with others and seeing different perspectives of ongoing discussions.
At one point during the week, Bonim had a Peulah that was an interactive way of showing the different views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It was very interesting to see how other people, non-Jews included, viewed the country of Israel and its policies. At the end of the day, it wasn’t about your own opinions, but about having an open mind to others. I hope next week is as interesting and stimulating as this week. Shabbat Shalom.
