This is my second session this summer at Camp Tel Yehudah, and I couldn’t be happier. Over intersession my parents practically had to drag me home, and I was singing our shira songs all the way up on the first day of the session.
There are a lot less people but in a way its really nice because I have had a chance to really get to know all of them. Something that I wasn’t expecting to be so important and crucial to the foundation of this summer was the addition of the Kimama kids from Israel. I came in 5 days ago knowing the simple Hebrew words I had known all my life, and now I know multiple phrases and have extended my Hebrew vocabulary. We haven’t been here for even a week yet and it already feels like a whole month. This summer feels so diverse, and with the three languages Russian, English, and Hebrew being spoken fluently I feel like the whole world is in Tel Yehudah.
Not only am I making new friends, but I’m making a new family, and its one that I will eagerly anticipate coming back to every year. I can’t wait for the rest of the summer 2016, and I hope it never ends.
