Young Judaea, Camp Judaea and Tel Yehudah alumnus, Yoni Limor, has translated his passion and artistic skills into an incredible new project -- a new comic book series called Sheldon The Librarian! Hear what Yoni has to share about growing up in Young Judaea, how his experiences had a hand in this endeavor, and what some of his plans are for the near future!
A Little Person from "The Big Apple" discovers he is a descendant of Ancient Dwarves and must accept his new destiny to save the world!
Young Judaea has had a major influence on my life. From 1992 to 1999 I attended Camp Judaea in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. In the summer of 1998 I found myself at Camp Tel Yehudah in Barryville, NY participating in the Atid program; It proved to be an amazing experience and I returned once again in 1999 for MH (Machaneh Hachshara). My Young Judaea adventure continued overseas to Eretz Yisrael in 1998 on Machon (M4!) and again in 2000 on YJ's Year Course (Kvutzah Gimel!) But my time with Young Judaea wasn't over, it was time to pay it forward and I was a staff member at Camp Judaea for 4 straight summers ('00-'04) and I returned one last time in 2012 as the Art Director.
It was during this last summer at camp that I began fleshing out an idea for a comic that had been floating around in my head for some time.
As one adventure ended, the next one began...
Sheldon The Librarian is a story about a Little Person on a BIG Adventure who discovers that he is actually a descendant of the Brotherhood of Ancient Dwarves. It has magic, mystery, and mayhem all rolled into one epic story. It is a project that I have poured my heart into for the last 3 years and I now I can start to share it with the world with Issue #1 (which is finishing up it's Kickstarter campaign after raising almost 200% of it's goal!)"
